Hammock and or hammock chair care is easy. Hammock and or hammock chair care can be accomplished by following certain steps. The steps in hammock and or hammock chair care are considered eco friendly and a way of going green. The steps do not use any electric to wash or dry and very little water and detergent are used in the process.

There are 5 major steps in hammock and or hammock chair care.

First, whether you have a hammock and or hammock chair, unhook the rings from the hammock stand and or hammock tree hooks which are located at the ends of the hammock and or hammock chair.

Second, hand wash holding the two hanging rings in your hands. Bring the hammock rings together, folding the hammock and or hammock chair in half. Tie the hammock and or hammock chair together with string just below the hanging rings. Tie the hammock or hammock chair together again, at the opposite end, and once more in the middle of the hammock and or hammock chair. By doing so, this should prevent the hammock metal rings from becoming entangled with the string bed of the hammock and keep the hammock chair in place as well. The hammock strings should not get tangled by following this step.

Third, fill a bath tub with adequate water and use a mild detergent. Bleach is not recommended. Immerse your hammock and or hammock chair in the water detergent mix. Using your hands, agitate the detergent water several times and then let the hammock and or hammock chair soak for 10 minutes. Using your hands, agitate the wash water again until you feel the hammock and or hammock chair is clean.

Fourth, after washing, carefully untie and unfold the hammock and or hammock chair. Hang up the hammock and or hammock chair and spread out to dry. Allow the hammock and or hammock chair to dry completely.

Fifth, if you do not intend to place the hammock and or hammock chair back into use right away, then you must store the hammock. Make sure your hammock or hammock chair is completely clean and dry. Hold the two hanging rings in your hands, bring them together, and again just above the point where the hammock bed begins, to prevent the tangling of the hammock strings and or hammock ropes. When storing your hammock and or hammock chair, protect the hammock against moisture, soiling, and critters. The easiest way to prevent moisture, stains, and creatures from threatening your hammock and or hammock chair quality is to use a storage bag. The storage bag should be made of an outdoor, weather resistant, durable fabric. The fabric should allow the hammock and or hammock chair to breath. If you do not have a storage bag there are other alternatives. One alternative is to hang the hammock and or hammock chair from its metal rings. You can hang the hammock where you feel the hammock will remain dry and out of the way of things that may threaten your hammock quality. You can consider your garage or your basement if these are available options. If you suspect or find any mold or mildew when you bring your hammock out of storage for the next season, you can wash the hammock or hammock chair with a mild detergent as you did previously before storage.
